.NET Developer

  • Salary: £37,500-£47,500 DOE

About the role

Working within a large and highly experienced group of capable programmers, you will be part of our engineering team, helping develop cutting-edge user interfaces for web, tablet and mobile environments.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, working with both new and existing customers to support existing applications, primarily using Umbraco CMS, or developing mini-projects upon their existing Umbraco infrastructure to add core new features based on our client's digital roadmaps.    

 

Key responsibilities for this role

  • Creating and maintaining future proof web applications
  • Scoping and writing specifications based on client requirements
  • Implementation and customisation of open source / commercial CMS products (typically Umbraco)
  • Liaising with the Customer Success Desk Manager to complete support tickets and receive functional briefs to complete small project work within existing applications.
  • Identifying, investigating and implementing solutions to satisfy client requirements
  • Ensure web applications meet current web standards & accessibility requirements
  • Using Jira Ticket Desk to manage your workload and provide updates on tickets in flight.
  • Liaising with Frontend Developers and Designers to ensure constraints and functionality requirements are met where necessary
  • Working with Project Managers to deliver within deadlines specified
  • Liaising with clients to deeper understand their requirements and to ensure that technical approaches are explained in an easy to understand manner

Essential skills you need to have

  • Minimum of 3 years web development experience
  • Knowledge of common software engineering patterns (MVC)
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft .NET (C#)
  • Proficient knowledge of SQL
  • Experience of industry best practices
  • Strong interest in future of web development
  • Experience of using version control systems preferable GIT and standard GIT branching models
  • Strong communication skills
  • Pragmatic attitude to problem-solving
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience of CMS based development

Some things that might give you that extra edge… 

  • Experience developing with and extending Umbraco CMS (or other .NET based CMS technologies e.g. Kentico or Sitecore)
  • Digital agency experience – or somewhere with similar pace
  • Experience of working in an agile team
  • Experience of writing reusable frontend code and components with standards like BEM
  • Experience of frontend frameworks such as React, AngularJS or Vue
  • Experience of working with Azure based products such as Azure Functions
